Today is the winter solstice and I wanted to just compare all the places we've lived since being married.

Cedar City, UT
Sunrise: 7:44 am
Sunset: 5:17 pm
Total: 9 hrs 33 min

Louisville, KY
Sunrise: 7:55 am
Sunset: 5:26 pm
Total: 9 hrs 31 min

Fayetteville, NC
Sunrise: 7:20 am
Sunset: 5:07 pm
Total: 9 hrs 47 min

Fairbanks, AK
Sunrise : 10:57 am
Sunset: 2:40 pm
Total : 4 hrs 13 min of Day

Spring must be just around the corner.....right?

crazy! Do you have a big light/lamp thing? i heard they use something like that up there to avoid depression. :)

Ah, the return of daylight. You made it! The sun does get higher than what's shown, doesn't it? Or is that it?

Heidi, yes we do have a lamp. It looks like a normal lamp but has a special bulb and filter over that bulb. And, Dad, that's it. It doesn't get above the houses behind mine. I get the sunlight streaming in the windows when it goes in between them :)
